COLLEGE CRAZIES
Sierra Vista's College Crazies program stays in contact with those who have graduated from high school within the past five years who are offspring of Sierra Vista members, who have participated with Sierra Vista's youth group, or who are members of the Crossroads Class.  This includes singles and marrieds who are in school or specialized training programs, gainfully employed, or in the military.  It also includes those who graduated more than five years ago who are still in school or who have not found a church home where they are living and want to continue to be part of the College Crazies Crew.    This program includes six mailings during the school year, regular email to the members, a Secret Prayer Partner for two months, and a special website where current news and celebrations are posted

GENESIS CLASS
Couples class for young adults 18 to 30's (married and single) who study Biblical ways to be a Christian in today's world.  The Genesis Class meets in the SVUMC Life Center in Room 206 each Sunday morning @ 10:00.  Enjoy fellowship, discussions, service, and social activities.

HERE I AM, LORD!!!
Sierra Vista's Young Adults on the Mission Field.

Dear Sierra Vistans,

On August 1st, I will travel to southern Sudan with 11 other team members for a 2 week stay with the Didinga, a subgroup of the Dinka ethnic people who live in a primitive and remote region along the border with Uganda and Kenya. William and Eunice Laku, leaders of the Nagishot Church, are building a boarding school called City on a Hill, to educate and mentor children from all the tribes of the area. Our mission is to participate in the planning and foundational work for this project. We ask for your prayers for our safety, health, and that our efforts bear much fruit for City on a Hill. For more info, go to www.xanga.com/ramirezhere. We will be updating our progress and posting blog entries from the village via a satellite phone.

Thanks for your prayers and support,
Trey Mims

Dear Sierra Vista,

For many that don’t know, I’m soon to embark, with 35 other 20-somethings, on the World Race. The team will travel through more than 10 countries in less than 12 months. We’ll devote our time and our talents to caring for orphans in southern Africa, rescuing prostitutes from the slave trade in Thailand, visiting refugee camps in Cambodia and much more. The trip has a competitive edge: the team will race from location to location and rewarded for the races they win. However, the majority of our time will be spent focusing on serving the local people and building relationships with them. For more information on the World Race you can visit www.theworldrace.org. You can also subscribe to my blog and follow me throughout the year at www.nataliemontgomery.theworldrace.org.  I thank you, Sierra Vista, for supporting me throughout my life and helping form a closer relationship with the Lord.

Natalie Montgomery

COLLEGE CRAZIES CORNER

COLLEGE CRAZIES 2008:

College Crazies is the Ministry of Sierra Vista that reminds our wonderful young adults that God loves them and that their Sierra Vista “family” is praying for them.  The students do not have to “join” anything or participate in any way if they do not want to.  College Crazies sends 5 or 6 mailings each year, signs up prayer partners for the “crew” during January and February, and maintains a website and a blog where they can check up on shared “congratulations” and prayer requests.

WHO IS INCLUDED:

--Sierra Vista-affiliated young adults who graduated from high school in the years 2003- 2007 (those in college, specialized training, Military, or gainfully employed.)

--Sierra Vista-affiliated young adults who graduated before 2003 but are currently attend- ing grad school, have a spouse who is in school, are in the military, or are members of the Crossroads SS class (Young Adult) or MOSAIC group at Sierra Vista

--Sierra Vista-affiliated young adults who graduated before 2003 but have not found a home church and would like to remain part of the College Crazies crew for a bit longer.
