Dear Family and Friends of Sierra Vista,
I pray that this note finds you well, hopeful, and considering the opportunities that are before us. In this era of the Covid-19 outbreak, this is a time that is important for all of us to understand the risk that is before us and faithfully respond in ways of thoughtfulness and health.
For many in our world, the situation before us has caused great anxiety and concern, and some have responded in self-directed ways, seeking to gather and horde while worrying about the worst. While others, as so often happens, recognize the opportunities this situation offers for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, loving and caring for those in need.
Yes, it is vitally important that we at Sierra Vista UMC take every precaution and make every effort to ensure the safety and health of our families and those close to us. However, it is just as critical that we, as followers of Jesus Christ, offer help and hope to those around us and in our neighborhoods through the disciplines of giving and serving those in need.
My hope is that we recognize the reality that, without our continued personal and financial support of the ministries at SVUMC, many needs will go unmet. Our staff and members continue to seek and create ways to feed those hungry (especially our children), provide for those impacted by financial hardships, and encourage those who are isolated.
Your involvement is vital to our efforts to be the “Church” in this uncertain time, and there are a number of ways you can give:
- Text “Sierravistagive” to 77977. Then follow the instructions!
- Visit www.sierravista.org and click on “Donate.”
- Or simply mail your check to: Sierra Vista UMC; 4522 College Hills Blvd.; San Angelo, Texas 76904.
Please stay connected… give as you can… and watch our social media for ways that you can touch those in need. Thanks for all you are doing. God will use us in amazing ways.
Prayer and blessings,
